Whoa

So this last weekend was one of the most hectic ones I've had maybe ever. We had all of our friends out and it was great to see everyone. The only problem is getting 6 people to all decide on what they want to do. Everyone was so pumped up when we got them from the airport. We went home had a few beers and decided we should head out to Dos Gringos. It was already about 9 when we decided we should take a cab, so we called around. Problem again, the 6 people, no one has vans or what? Finally we get picked up get down there and after an hour everyone is exhausted except Steve.
So we try to call a cab, 1 hr later figure out he's not coming, so they call another. Its a car LOL so I have to leave Jacob, Buckley and Steve at the bar to wait for their cab. Which never came. Which brings me to what we tried telling everyone, there are no cabs where we live, I know weird and hard to believe, but TRUE! So out of bed I get to go get them. I was so happy to finally get to bed at 3 but I was up again soon.

Friday Steve and Buckley woke up early and took Jacobs truck around. We went out to breakfast with Brock and Corre then headed up to the mall. Did I mention I broke my toe Thursday morning? We met up with the boys and went for a drink. From there we went home to drop off my car and headed down to Mill. By this time I was really nauseous which I now think has something to do with the pain I was in because I hadn't taken anything for my toe and walked around all day like a dumbass. Either way I made the best of it. We met up with some other people then went to another bar down there. By 8 Jacob and I went home and everyone else ended up home by 10.

Saturday we woke up and planned on just hanging out by the pool. We grabbed something quick for breakfast while Corre and Brock went to The Egg and I. Justin and Lisa came over and we had a pool party and drank lots. It was nice just relaxing by the pool. After a little drinking we ordered some pizza, and almost everyone took a nap.
Steve went home with Justin and when Buckley woke up he decided to take a cab down to Mill where Steve had ended up. Steve ended up getting kicked out of nearly every bar down there. Jacob, Brock, Corre and I stayed at home and drank. We had a lot of fun watching the boys dance LOL. Jacob likes to shake it!

Sunday I think we were all drained. No one said or did much of anything. We had to take them to the airport at 12. The drive back was sad for us. No more visitors planned for a while. Its just so hard to get to spend time with people when there are so many at once!

A whole month!

WOW! A lot can happen in a month. Not soon after I finished posting my last blog I was called into Joyce's office and told that the company is being forced to downsize to stay open blah, blah, blah, I know the deal. They were laying me off. Come to find out they laid off more people and made everyone who stayed take a 20% pay cut.

In my last blog I mentioned how much I missed doing nails, I am taking this opportunity and go back to doing what I miss right now. I was burnt out in Colorado and that is why it was very exciting to sell new homes at Engle, only I was still doing nails at home. I still had that bond with people and was getting to literally see a few friends everyday. What a breakthrough! I'm not sure why it took me so long to realize that I was missing getting to socialize even be needed.

I went yesterday and got my Arizona drivers license (finally) and scouted out some salons in the area. I am still waiting on my reciprocity license to come in. It is hard when you are new to an area but I drove around where I thought I would like to work and went in to talk to the people and get a feel. One thing about salons is they can be a little territorial. You need to make sure you are going to be working with people you think you can get along with and that fit your personality. It amazes me the way women will act towards each other. I visited about 7 places one I really liked just hired its 4th nail tech. I don't want to work with a bunch of other nail techs trying to build their clientele too. That was the mistake I made when I started doing nails. So I have narrowed it down, but I'm going to keep looking. One salon is just across the street from my house and it was very nice, for now it is my number one.

This month has just been FULL of visitors for us. The 1st Jacobs cousin and fiance came out for a few days. We went swimming, shopping, ate at a wonderful restaurant in downtown Scottsdale called Mastro's. Jacob's steak was HUGE and the best he's ever had. I loved mine too, but I can't decide if my favorite was the baked 4 cheese macaroni or the garlic mashed potatoes. MMMmmm

Sunday we took a drive to Sedona. I was hoping to get to spend a little more time in Sedona since its a drive, but it was a great trip. The weekend really went very fast.

I was pretty groggy from my motion sickness pill, I swear I was having conversations with myself because I was so tired I couldn't make myself talk! We took a hike in to get a better look at some of the great rock formations there, how I got my legs to work I'm not sure. LOL I think they could revamp those pills somehow so maybe people could function on them! I really hate feeling that way and I feel bad for everyone around me, I'm just not much company. Thankfully they wear off.... In 24 hours.

Marcia, Peter and Marie came out a few days after Jeremy and Jessie left. We are always very excited to see them! I think Peter was pretty excited to see Dax, and Dax was pretty happy himself. They wanted to take us out to dinner and of course my parents wanted to meet them so we had them all come over. From our house we went to Monti's in downtown Tempe. Steve had taken us there when he came out to visit in June, so I knew right where to drive. Awesome! Everyone got along great, the food was good. We had a great time. I really miss Marcia, shes an awesome lady. That whole family is great really, couldn't ask for a better second family LOL. We were sad our visit was so short with them, but they were off to California then Vegas. What a road trip!

On Thursday our best friends are coming into town. We are SO excited! Corre and Brock are going to stay with us and the other boys are getting a hotel room. I have a feeling that there will be quite a lot of drinking going on so I hope everything stays in order. If that's possible. We aren't sure if we are going tubing down the salt or going to a football game but they have a lot of things in mind.

Well, that's long enough now isn't it! I won't wait so long next time. Oh and engagement picture lady is a flake. Still no disk of pictures, she gave a lame excuse and said the new disk is on its way. So I guess we will see.
