Yummy sweet potatoes

I have decided that I want to try to make Nadia's baby food. It is not hard at all and it has to be better for her than the jarred stuff. I already have a steamer and a food processor would be great, but a blender works just as well. Last night we went grocery shopping and I got a few first foods that I could make. I made sweet potatoes last night. I was SO easy. I put the little servings in an ice cube tray and froze them so they are ready to use whenever we want. We fed her some last night and she was too cute. No funny faces, so she didn't mind the taste. I am looking forward to trying apples next.

Our poor little one has a cold. I feel so bad for her. She is so tired though that she slept from 10 last night to 830 this morning. That was kinda nice. I feel refreshed after getting a full nights sleep. I called the Dr and they said as long as she is eating and sleeping and doesn't have a fever that she is ok. I put the humidifier in our room last night and I think it helped all of us. I can't help it, I love them smell of a Vick's filled room :)

The trials of life

This is going to be long.........We had a few days last week that just just kept getting worse and worse. It is just amazing. When one bad thing happens, it all comes crashing down! I open the mail to find a notice from the AZ DMV saying that they have no proof of insurance coverage and they have suspended our tags. I called our insurance company and the lady tells me that the DMV is basically stupid and for me to call them. I told her to just fax our info over to them and then I would follow up. Turns out shes the stupid one, she had the wrong VIN # on our policy. Then I get a bill from DirecTV for $700 because we had yet to send our old receivers back. Ok, my bad. I called Fed-Ex and arranged for a pick-up. I try to get online and no internet, no phone either, hmm no t.v either! I know I paid the bill and even checked my bank statement, so I had to call and have a battle with them. We were right, but it took a day to get everything back on. Then we found out that to continue our health coverage our premium would be 1K a month, this is through Jacobs old work, a COBRA policy. I had put in an app for a different policy 2 months ago, but they are waiting on health records. So for now, no health insurance. This happens just as Nadia gets sick and is due for her well baby check and shots. We will just have to pay for it out of pocket. Wait.... There's more.

On Friday my Dad called and said he thought he was getting shingles again, so it would be best if they didn't watch Nadia. In case you don't know, shingles are chicken pox. Yes, children should be exposed early, but not at 4 months old. So, no biggie. Brick can watch Nadia or I could just work from home. I talked with my boss and he said working from home was fine. At noon I get a call from his wife asking what is going on so I tell her. Then she makes it sound like I was skipping out on work. Apparently she wanted me to go with her to show clients houses, but she never told me. I told her that I told Mike I would go into work if there was anything that needed done there and he said I could do it from home. So, she admitted that she should've told me and I offered to come in right then, but she was already on her way to pick them up. Then she sends me an email that night that asks if I am serious about wanting to take buyers out and selling houses because if not they need to know. I told her again, "I'm sorry if I came off as if I was not serious about work. Had I known you wanted me to go along today I would have. When we talked about me working more hours you said that some of them could be from home as long as nothing in the office was slipping and I asked. I asked Mike what needed to be done and he said I could work from home, I didn't think there was a problem." So she writes me back. "Its all good. Will you meet me Tuesday at 9 to take out more buyers?" I'm sure it's just because of all the things happening at once, but I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown! I calmed down during the weekend and met up with her yesterday. Everything was fine and they keep talking about how excited they are to have me. Communication with them has got to get better though, neither one of them knows what the other is telling me what to do!

Ahhh, sometimes it just takes getting it all out to feel better. I have been especially sensitive lately and I'm sure it's hormones. I'm so sick of that word. I changed to a different birth control and I am hoping that will help. I felt especially irritable with the last one so I went back to the brand I used before. I really just want to be back to normal again.

Nadias newest entertainment

She has learned how to move her mouth around by sucking on her lips. We tried to get a good video of it, but she gets distracted. It is the funniest thing we have seen. Of course everything she does is to us :)

Realization

Nadia and her Daddy.
Howie sleeping by Nadia.
Yesterday we went to look at rentals in Queen Creek before heading over to my parents house to celebrate my Mom's birthday. We found one that we wouldn't mind living in and in the area we are interested in. I am having a hard time deciding what to do and Jacob says he will do whatever I want. Well that doesn't help :) I am thinking maybe the best thing is for us to just stay here for another 6 months. Once we got to my parents house I had to fix my Dads computer, so that kept me pretty busy the whole time I was there. My Dad made this cute photo album of Nadia. It had pictures of me just before I had Nadia and I came to a realization. I was HUGE, I can't believe how big my stomach actually got. I am cutting myself a break. After seeing that picture and looking at myself now, I am doing just fine. I can still continue to work at getting back to where I was, but I need to stop being so hard on myself.

Other than that, not a whole lot else going on. I am working from home a few days a week and I love it. We have been playing lots of Guitar Hero World Tour and can play songs on medium on the drums. Brick usually plays the guitar so Jacob and I haven't gotten into playing it much. We just love to play the drums! We watch a lot of movies, the last one, Pineapple Express was ok. The weeks just seem to fly by, I can't believe how much Nadia changes everyday!

A few more photos

Wow, almost 4 months already

Poor little girl was trying to sleep in the first one, but the flash woke her up.

I'm not sure at what point you stop counting weeks and start counting months. Technically Nadia is 16 weeks old, which could be thought of as 4 months. Either way you look at it our little love bug is growing and changing so fast! She loves to sit up and any time you lay her down she works so hard to try to sit herself up. She holds her bottle, but doesn't know that she controls it yet. She loves to have her hands in her mouth, which we are trying to stop, but what can you do. She is such a happy little girl and loves to talk, giggle and smile at you. I think her most favorite thing is taking a shower. She loves the feel of the water on her and she tries to lick it. It is just adorable to see her reacting to things.

We are trying to decide what to do about our living situation. It is hard to believe we have been in this house almost a year already. We won't be ready to buy until July so I have asked the landlord if they would do a 6 month extension if we wanted. Its so hard to decide what to do. Since we are thinking of buying in Queen Creek we were thinking about renting there for the 6 months to be sure we like it. This means moving twice basically, which we all know is not fun! We need to make a decision soon though.

I got an email from my ex mother-in-law about the house that Dustin and I quit claimed to her. She is offering the property back to either one of us because she can no longer take it over. This puts me in a very BAD situation. Dustin refuses to move into it, we can't sell it for what we owe because of buyers wanting closing costs paid not to mention the commission for the buyers agent. I tried to think of anyone else that may want to move in it and take it over but no luck. Dustins sister was thinking about it but he doesn't want her living there either. I tried to remain calm and think about all of my options. I even thought, well this is an opportunity to move back to Colorado. We could move back and live there, that would solve the problem. Jacob did NOT like that idea. He loves it here and said that we are not moving back to Colorado and if we did, we wouldn't live there. I don't blame him, he has a great job and we are happy here. I don't have the desire to move back into that house either. So that leaves me where.... Rent it from AZ and take a $400 loss on it every month or let it foreclose. Great options! I'm sure there will be some lieniency down the line since so many people have been foreclosed on. It just makes me angry. The only good side to this is that when Jacob and I buy a house out here my name wasn't going to be on the morgage so it won't stop us.

Nadia first cereal feeding

She was too cute. I didn't give her very much, but she caught on right away how to eat with the spoon. I couldn't feed it to her fast enough! I can't believe how big she is getting. She wants to sit on her own so bad. She does very well, with some help. Here are a few pictures from the last few days.

Happy Anniversary

The past week just flew by! I started to feel a little better by Tuesday and I did go in to work. I left a little early, but had to stop at the grocery store on the way home to pick up some goodies for our anniversary celebration the next day. I had a whole plan in store and was hoping it would all turn out. Jacob had to work a half day so I had to drop Nadia off at my parents without him getting to see her first. This is the first night that we were ever away from her and it was SO hard. I cried at least 5 times and begged Jacob to go pick her up, but he insisted this was something we needed to do, he was right. We went for our couples massage at 5. It was so nice, we need to do that more often. Jacob's was a little deep, so he is pretty sore. I told him next time to tell her to lighten up a little. Crazy man! LOL. We came home very relaxed and settled in for our night. We started with a pepper jack cheese fondue I had made with veggies, bread, and steak for dipping. It was SO good, and easy to fill up on. I also made a milk chocolate fondue that we dipped pineapple, apples and pound cake in. MMMmmm so good. We drank wine and played Guitar Hero. We had an absolute blast. We were up pretty late and were excited that we would be able to sleep in. It didn't really work out for me though, I was still up at 8. I wanted to go get Nadia so bad. I waited for Jacob to wake up and we went to get her at 11. We spent the rest of the day hanging around the house and getting ready for Brick to come. He is going to be out for about a month. He can change his ticket at anytime if he wants.

I picked up Brick at the airport around 2 on Friday. We went shopping then came home. I started on the chicken enchiladas I was making for dinner while Brick watched t.v. and played Guitar Hero. Jacob got home around 6. We ate and played Guitar Hero all night long. I went to bed at 1030, but the boys stayed up till 3. Crazy men!
