No, not a To Do list....... Although I do have one of those. This was supposed to be a small wedding, and it is in size, but there are just SO MANY things to do. I know I of all people should be prepared, but I seriously wish we would've made things even simpler.
#1 I broke our expensive digital camera. How you ask? Taking pictures of myself in my wedding dress. Was that bad luck? :)
#2 I have broke many nails and picked off my polish. I am going in today to have a Mani, Pedi. I also have no idea what do to with my hair.
#3 Every time I go to get something wedding related done I get a bunch of other crap and don't get what I went there for in the first place.
#4 Multiple wedding invitations have been lost in the mail, or in the back of my car I found out. Sorry people!
#5 Don't have a florist because no one could guarantee flowers so close to the holidays, so that means I have no cake topper, corsages or boutonnieres. I made my flowers.
#6 The best of all! I think I hate my dress..... On me.
So I know none of this seems bad at all. When its all realized in one day by someone who has lost their marbles it seems catastrophic. LOL I do have my "To Do" list here by my side. About the only thing that went very smoothly was getting the liquor. We picked up the keg, wine and champange. So now, its just setting everything up that day and getting everything delivered on time. We can't wait to see everyone. Im not sure how we are going to get much sleep the night before. We will be excited to see everyone and we will be picking up Jacobs Mom and brothers at 315 in the morning. I don't think I am going to be able to come home and nap after that, oh boy. My brother has offered to help with whatever we need and my sister will be here from California with her family. I'm sure they will help out a ton. Ahhh so excited!

Wonderful
Last night was pretty fun, and a kickstart for the celebration we will be having next week. I ended up being late over to my Parents, my Mom called and wanted me to come early to help. Jacob was so sick, I felt bad that we had to leave the house. He ate a little and laid down for an hour or so. There really wasn't much to help my Mom with except wrapping presents. She hates wrapping presents, good for her, I like to wrap them. My brother Fred and sister in-law Karen came over with Rick and Julia. Shortly later Karens parents, sister, husband and kids came.
We then started to eat and get our Feuerzangenbowle ready. The food was good, but I was after the wine and cookies :) We all got our wine and opened presents, mostly the kids. Our family is so big we have gone down to just buying the kids presents. Then we took a short walk to a lake near my parents house to look at the Christmas lights. It was a pretty good night. No hangover this morning from all that wine, thats a Merry Christmas.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas
Frohe Weihnachten!!! I'm not sure what it is that puts me in a happy mood around the holidays, but it seems it can be a little sad too. Missed memories, or those great cookies my Aunt used to make..... Lots of things to miss, but SO many things to look forward too. While out getting Christmas presents yesterday both of us kept talking about having a family of our own and how exciting it is to see your children enjoying unwrapping their presents. I know we both just can't wait. I feel the desire to have a family, now! :) I know this could have something with the fact that we would be having a baby about now. So we will see what happens :) I suppose we should worry about getting married first. One week away! Ahhhh.... I am so excited, and anxious. We went yesterday and picked up a few more items that we needed.
Today I woke up, wrapped presents and started making spinach artichoke dip and wraps to bring to my parents tonight. We always celebrate Christmas Eve. Everyone comes over, we eat, make our hot spiced wine. Similar to Gluehwine, but its called Feuerzangen-bowle. We soak our sugarcane in 151 rum and light it on fire. We then pour a cup of the 151 over the sugar cone. It is quite a sight and it will put you on your butt pretty quick! That with some Lebkuchen mmmmmmmmmm. We open presents next and that would conclude the night.
So, I am off to go get ready. I will post pictures later.

Update
Jacob's hand and fingers are fine, for the most part. He went in for his check up on Monday and he has another check up the 24th. He is able to bend them but they still hurt of course, and one may be infected. He was on medication for infection, but took the last of the pills today. He went back to work on Tuesday, thankfully he has this weekend off.
Work has been steady for me. I had 3 new clients today. Now the trick is to make them return customers :) Christmas is right around the corner and we have nothing to put under the tree. We gave all of our gifts to each other early. He just got a surround sound system. Of course he came home, set it up and watched a movie. He wanted to see the new Halloween. I was upstairs, I don't like those types of movies so much. Gives me nightmares. His adrenaline was pumping so much when he came to bed it took him forever to fall sleep.
I have been having wedding nightmares. Mostly about things not being done. Think I'm freaking out a little bit???? I just hate waiting for the last minute on things, and thats just how it works. I got my flowers and made my bouquets tonight. I have to say I think they are pretty cute. I was having a hard time picking colors. I was going with pink, but since it is no longer needed I decided to go for more of a seasonal color. I change my mind on things all the time and can end up driving myself nuts. Then it almost always ends up with me telling Jacob we should have just gone with what he said. He doesn't let me forget that either! :)

Quite a scare
These last few days have been crazy. Both good and bad things, but still. I had a pretty good week at work. I had at least one client each day I was in and on Wednesday I had 5 clients. Good money! The bad news.... I am a horrible wife to be. Jacob tried calling and calling, but since I was doing new clients I didn't want to answer the phone. It didn't occur to me that the consistent calls meant something was wrong. Just as I was done with what I thought were my last clients of the day a lady wanted a pedicure. So quickly I texted Jacob "doin nails" so he wouldn't worry about why I wasn't answering the phone. I got my client set up and went back to check my phone and saw a text saying "well I'm going to the hospital call me when you can" Of course I called right away. Jacob had caught his fingers in a machine at work. It looked pretty bad, and he was lucky to not have lost his fingers. I felt horrible that I had to do my client and couldn't go with him. I quickly did the pedicure and I'm sure I rushed it, but my mind just wasn't there. After that I headed over to wear Jacob was getting xrayed. They took me back to where he was. I couldn't help smiling all the way down the hallway. He didn't break any bones, but does have some soft tissue damage. Today he can move his fingers pretty well, tomorrow he goes back in for a check up. What a scare!!! Since he had to take a few days off of work we went to the movies Friday afternoon and saw I am Legend. It was pretty good, and sad. With that said, 2 weeks until the wedding! Holy cow!

Oh soooo good
I had yesterday off, being that most salons are not open on Mondays. I spent the day cleaning up the house, doing laundry, all the things I missed on the weekend since we were at my parents house. I was upstairs about to get into the shower when the doorbell rang. I ran to the guest bedroom window and saw that it was the Fed Ex man. I went downstairs and answered the door. What was awaiting me....... My Christmas present from Jacob. I am IN LOVE! He got me an IJoy massage chair and ottoman. Oh how good it feels! Now the only reason I got my present early was it clearly stated on the box what was inside.
I waited for Jacob to come home and we set it up. He had to leave again to go on a call and I sat and enjoyed my new massage chair, along with a glass of wine. I slept so good last night, I can't even explain. Of course as I am writing this Jacob is in the massage chair almost asleep. What good is a present if it can't be shared? Last week one of his presents came in the mail. I am no good at keeping secrets from him. All he had to do was beg a little and I just had to give it to him. I got him a bluetooth for his phone since he is driving so much. He has been using everyday since. Now, he doesn't go walking around with it everywhere. Some of those people drive me nuts, and I'm sorry if you are one of them, but it isn't necessary to wear it 24-7. Besides the embarrassing conversations I have thought I was having with people, no one wants to hear all your business. LOL Anyway, he loves it because his arm is no longer sore from talking on the phone most of the day. I of course love my massage chair. After a day of doing pedicures and nails you can use a little pampering yourself. Merry Christmas!!!!

My dress is complete
The weekend is over and boy could we use a few more days. We were at my parents house everyday this weekend to finish the tile in their bathroom. It took Fri and Sat just to lay it. Sunday Jacob did the grout, I helped as best I could but all I'm good for is putting the mastic on the tile. That counts right?? :) My mom was very pleasent while we were there and made us dinner both nights. All I can say is, what a relief! I made a few changes to my dress, there was a sash that I wasn't too fond of, so I found a way to remove it. I love how it looks. Sunday I brought my dress to my parents so I could fix my hem. We are so tight on time and money there was no way a seamstress would get it done in time. I have to say that it turned out pretty good, but it took hours. I wish that I would've had a sewing machine. I have one at home but the plan was to try to use that strip that you iron on. It wouldn't stick to my dress material. If I was thinking right I would've brought it home and used my sewing machine. I'm never doing that again!

Wow only a few more weeks
This week was odd. Weather here has been a little cloudy and dreary. I'm sure this has to do with my mood along with other stresses that are not necessary. All I can say is I am glad that this week is over. I hope the drama goes with it :) Its unfortunate when someone who is supposed to be supportive about things starts causing conflict. At one point this week I thought we were going to have to rearrange wedding details to unsure everything would go smoothly. As much as I can say I won't let this stress me out or ruin the joy of getting married, its causing sleepless nights and a definite mood change. Of course, I'm sure this will all blow over, just like always, but was it really necessary in the first place? Seriously, what is wrong with people?? I don't mean to put all of my personal business out there for people to judge, but I am so frustrated I need to vent. My Dad did tell me though that no matter what, the wedding will be great and it will be at their house. I told my Dad that the whole reason we were even getting married down here was for her, because she can't travel, and she wants to act this way? We would have much rather gone to Colorado so that everyone could attend, but I was trying to think of her feelings.
On a better note... We went over to my parents house yesterday and started installing tile for them in their master bath. My mom wasn't there. Once we got all the tile down we could without making cuts we went outside and my Dad shared his creation :) We stood outside and he turned on all the lights on in the backyard that he had put up for our wedding reception. It looked so good! He is such an awesome man, I love him to death. I know he will do whatever he can to make our day great. He is so excited it is very cute! He makes up for anything my mom can throw my way! Today, we will go back over to finish the tile. Hopefully there are no encounters :)

The silent treatment
Well, I have to say this last weekend was pretty peaceful. Jacob was on call and was out most of the day on Saturday. That gave me some time to do a little research on some Christmas presents for him. We went out that night and bought a few things that we need for the wedding. Jacob also picked out a few Christmas ornaments for our first Christmas together. I was wondering what he was searching the store for, but he kept saying it was a surprise. We came back home, ordered some pizza and he watched a movie while I was sleeping. I really didn't want to watch the scary movie he got :) Sunday morning we were woke up by his on call phone. I decided to go along so that we could spend a little time together. The call was in N Phoenix, it takes us longer to drive there then for him to fix the problem. While he was in the house I called my Dad. He was all excited about the decorating he has done for the wedding. I requested a lot of white lights in the backyard, and he has been busy at work! We also talked about how we were going to set things up. The plan is to eat outside, but the concern is that it may be a little chilly. So people, bring your coats! Everyone seems to think, oh its Arizona, it will be warm. Not so much after the sun goes down! We are still trying to figure out if everyone will want to stay at my parents for the New Years celebration or not, but I guess we will find out. Apparently my Mom is not only giving me the silent treatment, but also my Dad. This I don't understand.... Then again I rarely understand where her thinking comes from. She is still mad at the incident we had over the phone a few days ago. I wish I could've recorded it so she could hear she was the one yelling at me and then hung up on me. I'm not taking the blame for this one, I always have to and I'm tired of her not taking responsibility for anything. I just feel bad for my Dad, he didn't do anything wrong. Well, then again, this is why my weekend was peaceful :)
