Scary Halloween

Everyone at the salon was dressing up today, so I had to come up with a last minute costume last night. I had a couple of choices but none that I was really excited about. I finally decided I could go as a go go dancer or a UPS delivery person. I ended up doing the UPS deal. I would have felt much cuter in my go go outfit, but I really couldn't bend over, let alone do a pedicure if someone had wanted one LOL! So I put my cutness aside :) Here are a few pics from the salon.

Happy Halloween

This last weekend was pretty laid back, which we needed. Saturday we realized that we lost my keys. We left them in the mail box key hole, great! So we have the mail on hold and hopefully whoever found them doesn't know where we live. Our house keys are on there along with my land rover keys. I'm a little freaked out. I hope someone returns them. Saturday afternoon we went down to my parents and Jacob did some plumbing work for them, then we had dinner to celebrate their anniversary. Every year they used to throw a HUGE Halloween party, but now they are older and prefer dinner :) We were invited to a party that night at our landlords house, but we got invited last notice and had no costumes. Plus with Jacob not drinking it isn't the ideal place to be. We had a great night together at home watching movies. Sunday I made us breakfast then Jacob slept almost all day, which he needed badly. I ran to the store and did housework, then I made us dinner while he watched Transformers. He loved the movie! Of course then it was about time for me to watch Desperate Housewives LOL.

We have been talking about moving into a different house, we have been a little tight on money lately. Hospital bills keep coming in from my miscarriage, it seems like we just can't get a break! I talked with our landlord today and it sounds like he wants to really keep us in the house, so he said he would call me tonight with some possible solutions. The market is not great for home owners right now and rents have really gone down. I'm sure they realize this too, so we will see what they come up with.

I really like the salon I am at, and I had a few clients last week, so hopefully things will start picking up there too. I am also looking at second jobs, I can't help it. I am so used to working two jobs that I feel pretty lazy only working one. The job market also crashed here for a while, especially in the field I was in. After I had gotten laid off I was applying for jobs while waiting for my nail license to come in but nothing was coming through, so I will keep my fingers crossed. It would be nice to be able to have some play money. Especially with Christmas coming up!

OOooohh

Poor Jacob has been working so much lately, I feel bad for him. Although his job is not as hard on his physical body as his last the hours are still long. He is also on call an average of half the week. Last weekend he had to go out Friday night, Sat morning and pretty much all day Sunday.

One of my best friends came to visit this last weekend and we had so much fun. I miss her a ton. Jamie is one of those happy go lucky friends that you can't help to have fun with no matter what you do. Friday I went and picked her up at the airport and we went down to Mill for some lunch. The problem... I was driving Jacobs truck and it was VERY hard to find a parking spot, but I managed it. I only ran over something when we were leaving LOL. After we had lunch at Gordon Bierch we went to the Hooters balcony and enjoyed the nice weather. Then it was time to find her a hotel, her man was coming up from Tucson to meet up with her. Saturday Jacob and I went to breakfast, but he had a call so we had to run out early. We also had tattoo appointments at 3 that day. Anyone who knows Jacob knows how much he loves his tattoos :) I was afraid we wouldn't make the appointment but we just barely did. After that we met up with Jamie and John down at Macayos on Mill, then headed to Hooters for the UFC fight. Once that was over poor Jacob had to deal with being around a bunch of drunks. Poor guy, I hardly ever get like that, but when I do I'm a little loud, think everything is funny and want to dance, dance, dance. He was great and I have to say that I am SOO proud of him for not drinking. We went to Tavern on Mill and Jamie and I danced I had so much fun with her. Jacob took them to their hotel and we headed home and Jacob felt the need to video tape me laughing in hysterics sitting on the floor with the dogs. I do NOT wish to drink that much anytime soon. I was ill all Sunday. I didn't feel like I had that much, but my body did! On a good note, despite all the drinking and empty calories I am still managing to lose some weight. So I'm excited about that.

Jacob helped me move into my new salon on Monday and hang my shelves. I have a hard time making decisions so the salons that I talked about in my last blog are not the ones I ended up picking. I over analyze everything! I drive myself nuts to be honest with you! I really like the salon that I picked though and I can run my own business, which is what I'm used to. I'm pretty excited and its only 10 minutes away from the house.

This weekend we were invited to go down to Tombstone with Justin and Lisa, but its homecoming here so I am hoping to be able to get some clients. It may ust be a laid back weekend, which is what Jacob needs really.

Gotta love Arizona

Things are falling into place again for us! I am so excited to say that my nail license came in this weekend. My problem was deciding which salon to choose from. Both offer different things, so it was a tough decison. I have decided to go with True Essence for now. There I can do nails and mani pedis. The prices aren't as high as the other salon, so that means I make less money per client, but I'm going to give it a try. The other salon is Avante, which will be in an outdoor mall next to the Coach store. They are supposed to open the end of this month. They are a Medi Spa, which means very high prices and only Mani Pedis. If my first choice doesn't work out I can always change my mind.

Friday night we went to the Rockies Diamondbacks game here at Chase field with our friends Justin and Lisa. Jacob knows Justin from the Springs. We brought the camera, but I forgot to put the battery in. So the picture of us is courtesy of my camera phone. This is why you gotta love Arizona. Its mid October and I was wearing my Dbacks tank top to the game. (Sorry, I have NO Rockies stuff)We didn't get home until about 1, but we had a lot of fun. We were watching game 3 in Denver last night, man are we going to love this winter here!!! Those poor people had to be freezing their asses off.

Saturday we ran around, had to go pick up my car from Land Rover. We wanted to eat at a great place called Oreganos but there was no parking, so we headed to the Cracker Barrel. Jacob loves their breakfast. We also went down to Club Tattoo and met the artist who will be doing our tattoos next weekend. I'm pretty excited, and you know Jacob is! We are excited because Club Tattoo is a really great shop, owned by Chester from Lincoln park, so we are confident in the people they have working there. That night we watched Death Proof, and it was pretty good. Normal Tarantino movie, love him!

This next Friday my friend Jamie is coming in from Colorado. I'm pretty excited to see her. She is such an upbeat person, I love her to death. We have been friends for something like 13 years. I have to say, she is one woman I look up to. She is very driven and has accomplished a lot. Any woman that is a Marine has my upmost respect!

Engagement Pictures Slideshow August

Again, we are obviously not used to AZ or we would have waited a few months to take these. It was 105 out and the photographer, I'm sad to say sucked....

I know! We were CRAZY! I was soaked within the first 10 minutes. We did buy passes though, so we can go again when the animals might be out.

La dee da

Well, the last few weeks have been blah..... Maybe just for me and the dogs :) Jacob has started at a new company that he loves. I'm happy that he likes it so much. His last company started getting a little too personal and was ran like crap. The owners son can't keep his crap together so I guess he assumes everyone is like that. Then the owners themselves started telling people lies in the office about us. WEIRDOS!! No wonder they can't keep anyone working at their company. They don't know us, we have lived here a few months. Too bad though, I did like the owners sons wife. She filled me in a little on the family too, which made me want to run more! LOL Its really hard moving to a new town and meeting new people that know nothing about you or your past but act like they know everything. I miss having friends close that knew me inside and out and could give me REAL advice. Advice that is based on the truth. So the changes in the last few weeks have been good. Jacob is not stressed out or worn out at the end of the day. Everything seems to be working itself out.

We decided its time to get back into being more healthy. So no more drinking, though we will miss it :) and eating better foods. The Mayo is gonna kick Jacobs butt! So we will see how well we fair. I have confidence we will do great! Next decison is gym membership or invest in equipment. I'll leave that up to Jacob.

.We went to the driving range with my Dad and brother a few weekends ago. Jacob of course was a natural and I didn't do so bad myself. Much more practice is needed! Hitting a golf ball is more exercise than you realize. I think Jacob tore his diaphragm :) Poor guy

This last weekend my parents wanted to have on Oktoberfest. Jacob had to work so Howie and I went early so Howie could be groomed and I could help with the food. Everything turned out great, or that's what everyone said! My mom loves to throw parties. So it was a success.
