Home sweet home

Thursday morning we woke up bright and early at 4 to begin our vacation in Colorado. We were very excited so it made it easy to wake up. We loaded everything including Dax into the car and drove to my parents house. My Dad was ready and waiting for us, we got Dax situated and headed to the airport. On the way I realized that my motion sickness pill box was empty! I haven't flown without these since I was a very little girl! I could have bought Dramamine in the airport, but I hate how it makes me feel. Even though the Bonine makes me drowsy as well it is nothing like what the Dramamine does to me. I would be incoherent for a good 12 hours. So, I opted not to get anything and hope for the best. We had minor turbulence, but I was fine. I can't explain how amazing I felt being able to function after the flight. Peter picked us up from the airport and was nice enough to let us borrow his truck for our visit. We dropped him off and started the 1 1/2 drive to Cripple Creek to see Jacobs family. We were able to surprise his brothers and then went to his sisters work to surprise them. Everyone was so excited to meet Nadia. We stayed for a few hours and then had to go back to the Springs for dinner. Nadia was getting very tired and so were we, but we managed through dinner. We finally got to settle in to Steve's house around 9. Nadia did not sleep well, so of course that means neither did we.

We woke up Friday morning went to breakfast and I got my hair done. I needed it badly! John always does an awesome job and I had him cut 6 inches off. I love it! I went and visited a few friends, then my nephews and sister. It was nearly 530 then and we had to get back to Steve's for the "Pasta Party". Everyone had a great time and Jacob was very excited to show off his drum skills. He is quite good, even better at home, but he did great. We went to bed fairly early knowing we would be up early the next day. We met Corre and Brock for breakfast and then we all went downtown to watch our friends in the St. Patricks 5K. We put Nadia in her little snow suit since it was 20 degrees when we left the house. I carried her in the snuggli while we walked around. We got to see everyone finish and then started back to the car. We had a family BBQ to go to at Jacobs Aunt and Uncles house. It was nice to get to see everyone at one place, it is very difficult to try to fit seeing everyone in. After the BBQ I had friends that I wanted to meet up at Good Company. Between my friends and Jacobs I would say we nearly took up half of the bar. We all had a great time there. Around 12 everyone started migrating towards Steve's house. The night went fairly well with the exception of one of Jacobs friends (who's wife's nasty emails I had to deal with the next morning). We decided it would be best that we pack up and stay with Jacobs cousin and wife. We all took a cab to their house and by the time we got settled in it was 4. I was so irritated at the nights happenings that I could not fall asleep. I finally managed about 45 minutes but then both of us were anxious to pick Nadia up. Jacobs Mom was nice enough to babysit for us the night before. Neither one of us were feeling very well, I think I was fighting a bug almost the entire time we were there. We made the drive to the Broadmoor and visited with his Aunt, Uncle and Mom. We were so exhausted, and decided that all of us needed a good rest. We checked into The Homewood Suites up North and passed out. I can't believe even little Nadia slept, we did not expect to wake up and see it was 9! We needed the rest dearly and the bed was so comfy you couldn't help but just want to stay in it. We had pretty much ran ourselves ragged. Monday morning we went to the hotels breakfast, which was wonderful and checked out. We went to Garden of the Gods to take some pictures and then met up with my friend Jamie. We visited for a while and then we were off to see Cheri. We only stayed for 30 minutes, but at least I got to see her. It was mid afternoon by then so we stopped over at Brianna and Joeys. We got visit a little bit and then went to Marcia's so she could take us to the airport. I again, didn't take any motion sickness pills and I did fine. It is so nice to be home! Now it's back to work though, and that will be tough!
